[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=»3/4″][vc_column_text]Geoffrey Cannock is Managing Partner of the Applied Economics area of APOYO Consultoría. He is an economist by the University of the Pacific, Lima; and MSc and PhD in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. Between 2003 and 2008 he worked as an economist in the preparation of loan operations of the Inter-American Development Bank. Previously, between 2000 and 2003, he was manager of Competence and Regulation of APOYO Consultoria. He has directed consulting projects in infrastructure sectors, in particular telecommunications, natural gas, water and sanitation, and irrigation.
Dr. Cannock is the author of several articles and books. He has been professor of the School of Undergraduate and the Program MBA of the University of the Pacific in the courses of project evaluation, economy of the regulation, and regulation of the telecommunications. He has also been an exhibitor during the International Training Program on Utility Regulation and Strategy. He has been Director of the Master of Regulation of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences.
Vice President and member of the Commission of Free Competition of the National Institute of Defense of the Competition and Protection of the Intellectual Property -INDECOPI from August of 1999 to July 2002. He participated in the decisions on fusions in the electrical sector, access to port terminals, International airport cargo services, financial services, and insurance. Likewise, he resolved cases regarding the subsidiary role of the State in public companies.
He has been Member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Economics, University of the Pacific. Founding Vice-President of the Water Promotion and Management Institute (IPROGA). Member of the Arbitration Chamber of the Pontifical Catholic University-Peru; of the National Arbitration Center (CENAC) of Guatemala; and the Collegiate Bodies of the telecommunications regulator.
He has been head of the Peruvian delegation in the APEC Telecommunication Working Group (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) and in the Telecommunications Services Agreement of the World Trade Organization. He was a Peruvian candidate for the Executive Secretariat of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission.
