Introduction

ALAS20´s Nominees are the companies, investors and professionals who have obtained the 10 highest votes in the voting process of ALAS20 in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. In addition, those companies that are part of the Vigeo Eiris Emerging Market 70 Ranking, as of December 1, 2016, are nominated in the category «Leading Company in Sustainability». ALAS20´s Nominees are published in alphabetical order in each category and for each country. In this instance, ALAS20 does not publish a ranking with Nominees according to the number of votes obtained.

Methodology for determining Nominees in ALAS20

The voting process to determine the Nominees in ALAS20 takes place between March 6 and April 5, 2017.

Through an invitation made by GovernArt in each country, it is possible to vote for the best companies in sustainability, corporate governance, and investor relations, as well as the CEOs and Board Members of Leading Companies in Sustainability. In addition, it is possible to vote for the best institutions in responsible investment, corporate governance, and sustainability research, and by the best CEOs and Board Members of Leading Institutions in Responsible Investment.

This voting process involves the participation of investors, heads of corporate social responsibility, sustainability and corporate affairs, finance managers, CEOs, and other members of companies with a presence in the stock market, family companies, non listed corporations, state owned companies, and other types of organizations. Also involved are sell side and buy side financial analysts, investment managers, study managers, CEOs, and other members of Assett Management institutions, Investment Managers, Pension Funds Managers, General Funds Managers, Investment Funds Managers, Family Offices, and other Institutional Investors.

Voting takes place online, in the HOME section of www.alas20.com, and on the GovernArt website www.governart.com, as well as on the websites of ALAS20´s Partners and Sponsors. Once the voting process is completed, the validation process begins.

On April 24, 2017, the names of the organizations and professionals that have obtained the 10 highest votes in each of the categories in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico are published on www.alas20.com and from those Companies that, in the category «Leading Company in Sustainability», are nominated for being part of the Vigeo Eiris Emerging Market 70 Ranking, as of December 1, 2016.
